Let's get the online dating clichs out of the way first:
I'm positive, my glass is always half-full, I'm fun-loving, at heart I'm a 25 year-old trapped in a 50+ year-old body, I see the good in everyone and I love curling up with a bottle of wine and a DVD..and so on :-)
...But seriously, folks:
I have an eclectic mix of interests: sporty at one end of the spectrum and arty/creative pursuits at the other with a few points in between. Sport-wise I'm into golf (mainly fair weather and especially in sun-kissed Portugal) and football (don't groan too loudly - I'm not obsessive, honest).
Arty/creative pursuits manifest themselves through the occasional 'treading the boards' with my local theatre group in our unique and lovely little theatre, writing, a bit of photography, learning guitar (its killing my fingers at the moment) and occasional theatre nights out.
Im at times thoughtful and self-contained, but on the other hand will do more or less anything on stage as long as it's legal. I can spend periods alone (part of my work demands it - no, I'm not a monk), but do enjoy meeting people and like the stimulus of mixing with new groups of people along with familiar faces such as family and friends.
I take an interest in hypnotism (the 'feel good/relaxation' kind not the 'bark like a dog on stage' kind!) and general self-help techniques such as NLP and meditation.
I'm not prescriptive in any way in terms of exactly what I'd like in a partner. I tend to believe opposites can indeed attract, although an acceptance of each others' tastes, views and interests (and perhaps a sharing of some?) is a good combination. If you're basically content but would like that significant other to enhance life then we may have something in common.
I've had the beard since last Christmas having grown it for a stage role and I kinda like it so it's a keeper, but if you're not a fan of them I'm willing to negotiate...and it does at least prove my pics are all recent :-)
While I have an age range specified for who I'd like to meet, a few years either way isn't a deal breaker.
