Hello and welcome, as my physical details indicate I am small 5'4" to be exact and slim but have a big heart and the intellect to match. I am very approachable, a good communicator and listener too and would describe myself as affectionate, considerate, thoughtful and tactile, quite gentle really with a good sense of humour, for what would life be like without laughter. I am financially solvent though not materialistic and my interests include history which I did teach at degree level, current affairs, reading, listening to the radio, music of all types, socialising with friends, enjoying good food, wine and real ale, though in moderation I might add. I like to keep physically fit, mainly by going running and by cycling and/or walking everywhere locally. I also enjoy travelling, especially to Southern Europe for the climate and civilised culture. Finally and very importantly, I am an outdoor enthusiast and keen hill walker. I love the wild beauty and solitude of mountain scenery and hill walking is not only a terrific way to keep fit it is wonderful for chilling out and putting life into perspective. I want to stress that although I am 71 I am not ready to be a couch potato just yet. There are lots of fantastic places I want to visit both here in the UK and abroad and lots of great mountains I intend to climb before I have to hang up my walking boots. And it would be the icing on the cake to have my soulmate by my side.
