I'm a recent Bachelor of the Arts graduate whose practice centres around abstract expressionist painting. My primary focus explores themes of mental health and sight loss through the use of texture and mark-making on canvas. I'm currently self-employed, selling my paintings and commissions in the interim of a Masters degree in painting, in London later this year. I've two very exciting commissions coming up in the next few months!
Outside of the art world, I like to stay active by enjoying long walks, yoga, and keeping fit in the gym. I enjoy travelling, learning languages, and going to as many gigs as I can. I'm currently learning Swedish ahead of a visit to Malmo in the spring. I have an eclectic taste in music but my favourite genres include glam rock, various sub-genres of metal, and 80s new wave.
After double retinal detachment in 2018, I'm now blind. I use a screenreader on my iPhone to navigate the internet and have a beautiful nine year old Guide Dog. My mental health has been impacted by my traumatic experience of sight loss and I suffer with anxiety and PTSD. Mindfulness, spiritualism, and meditation have been paramount in my healing journey, though progress isn't always linear.
I'm seeking someone in my age bracket (30-39) who is polite, ambitious in their career, compassionate, intelligent, and creative. They must have a great empathy for others as I do myself.
