I am 24 years old and have lived on my own in my own flat for 4 years. My Dad and sisters live close by, so they are around to help me if I need it. I would like a dog of my own, at the moment I help to look after Ned, my dad's dog. I go to the gym with my dad a few times a week and go skiing with him sometimes in the winter. I have 4 sisters and 1 brother. My Mum lives in London, but I don't see her very much, may be once a month. I would like a girlfriend, but I am very shy and not great around girls. I don't drive due to my Dyspraxia and other learning difficulties. I spend a couple of weekends a month with my cousins and uncle, we have a few drinks and sometimes a BBQ, even in the winter. I am divorced and enjoying retirement. It would be very nice to have someone to share things with. I also enjoy holidays and seeing the world on cruises, which I am fortunate to have the time and resources to enjoy quite often.
I was a lecturer at a university in London for 26 years but retired a year early because I could and was tired of the commuting. Prior to that I taught design and technology and some English for 10 years in secondary schools across England. Most of my career was spent teaching teachers and researching in university. There I did my MA and Doctorate in Education (EdD). My working clothes for a few days per year were gold damask robes with cords, silks and tassels- and a Henry VIII style 'tudor bonnet'. Tourist asked me to pose with them on graduation days, I was one of the sights of London! Don't worry, I won't be wearing it any more.
Eight books + a chapter published. The books reached various countries, including Australia and the USA and were even transated into Welsh. They are still selling on Amazon- but not for much!
Work took me to 13 countries for short periods, some more than once e.g. Finland and NL 10 times. I saw a murdered person in S.Africa and snowmobiled across a frozen lake in Finland at night. I also got to work at home quite often and had long breaks compared with most people. Five hour round trip to campus -starting very early when I did go in.
Sorry, the work history paragraph was a bit long. I suppose its easy to write about.
Despite the job am not a boffin or intellectual. and interested in lots of things. Mostly I very much miss a cuddle. We cant cuddle ourselves. Have been described as a nice man and an interesting man with a nice voice. I hope you get the chance to find out.
First divorced after 9 years and the scond time after 20. Four grown up children. I also have 5 lovely grandsons, though the are not as local as Id like. It is lovely to have them all together when I can.
I have lived in outer London (where Im from), Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and two places in Kent. I like Tenterden but also to get out of it. I live off the High Street down a long private footpath in an old listed cottage. I like candlelit meals and nice red wine- with good company of course.
I was very into judo (in particular) and karate over many years but have now bowed out. I did teach self defence sessions for new women students on campus I still know most of the syllabus to judo brown belt in Japanese. Very useful not!
I used to be Rotarian- respectable eh? They do a lot of good in the community and beyond. I've collected for various charities in my blue curly wig and Rotary tabard.
I did 'the Good Life' thing in the past- goats, bees and so on. Many amusing dramas.
Im functionally creative and like to write, read, draw, make, cook and design. I sold some cartoons in the past. I play the flute by ear also penny whistle and harmonica - sometimes while cooking (which I enjoy). I'm writing up my varied experiences for my children and grandchildren. I go to Men in Sheds and the U3A.

Laughter and fun is what I am looking for! I love going out for the day, the evening, the weekend but happy to spend a day in the garden, or at home baking, chatting, watching a film. I love my dogs so they are a big part of my life but looking for someone who loves a cuddle. I live in a lovely part of the Kent countryside and I would not choose to live in a town. I was brought up by the sea which could be bleak in the winter but ever changing in the summer. I have 2 sons I am proud of and who look after me. I hope you are out there somewhere!
