I am easy going sociable individual. I am widower, lost my wife 3 years ago (married 45 years). I am in no great hurry, and initially seek a like-minded lady who appreciates an outgoing sociable personality, a sense of fun, honesty, sincerity and respect. With my career I visited over twenty countries and in the 70's/80's I lived and worked in the Middle-East, Cyprus and Channel Islands. Subsequently, the family and I settled in Northamptonshire. Over the years I have had a go at everything from rugby, canoeing, rock-climbing, horse-riding, shooting, and fishing, to snorkelling, sand-yachting and offshore sailing. Now, alas, I am far more the spectator, particularly of rugby and horse-racing. I still enjoy country and coastal walks and the occasional city break. I am a creative individual. Music and the arts have always played an important role in my life. I played the cello until I left school and have tinkled on the guitar for well over 50 years. I also sang in a male voice choir until recently. I have written poetry, short stories and started a book, which I keep threatening to finish. I have also been a member of a local art group and have a good number of paintings and charcoal drawings hung. I am a foodie and love cooking and entertaining - no surprise that I also enjoy a glass, or two! I have four grown-up children, seven grand children whom mean the world to me.
